Queen Elisabeth's Platinum Jubilee

The Queen leads the lighting of the Principal Beacon at Windsor Castle. The spectacular Queen’s Green Canopy Tree of Trees outside Buckingham Palace will form the Principal Beacon throughout the weekend’s celebrations. This evening, over 3,000 beacons will be lit across the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth to celebrate The Queen’s 70 years of service. The illuminated Tree of Trees, which is made up of 350 Queen’s Green Canopy saplings, forms the #PlatinumJubilee Principal Beacon and pays tribute to Her Majesty’s 70 years of service.

Mothering Sunday

Today is #MotheringSunday.

📷The Queen, then Princess Elizabeth, is pictured with her mother, Queen Elizabeth in 1951.
Mothering Sunday is a chance to thank and celebrate all mothers and caregivers, wherever they may be.
Today may be a different and difficult day for those who would usually plan to spend time with their mothers, as we adapt to the necessary changes and disruption to our normal routine and regular patterns of life.
But for all Mums everywhere, we are thinking of you, and wish you all a very special #mothersday.
